The owner had a large, circular concrete structure that required removal of deteriorated concrete followed by shotcrete application. Rampart was selected for this project because of our custom-made wall machine hydrodemolition robot which allowed us to reach all sections of the wall to complete the work.

The circular design of the structure, along with the height of the walls, made the concrete removal on this project challenging. Concrete removal on this project would have been hard to accomplish with chipping hammers or other mechanical methods due to the vertical and/or overhead removals required. Rampart’s unique robotic equipment allowed for the removal of the required concrete with only two employees and no physical injuries.

Rampart Hydro Services provides approximately 19,000 SF of concrete removal. The depth of removal varied based on the wall sections – upper wall areas required 4.5″ removal, lower wall sections required 2″ removal, and mid-height of the wall required 1″ removal. There were also areas of intermittant damage requiring various depths of concrete removal.

Rampart successfully completed this project on time and under budget without any OSHA-recordable incidents.
