- Hydrodemolition, Debris removal, Hydrodemolition wastewater collection, containment, and treatment:
The East Monroe Street Parking Garage had extensive concrete deterioration and needed major repairs and renovations. Rampart Hydro Services was selected for this project due to our experienced hydrodemolition technicians and large equipment fleet size. We were able to send multiple equipment units and numerous technicians to this large (630,000 SF) project.
This project was unique because of the large scope of hydrodemolition and related services required. Hydrodemolition was utilized to remove approximately 630,000 SF of concrete to a depth of 4.5″. Along with the hydrodemolition, Rampart also performed cleanup of the hydrodemolition debris and control, containment, and treatment of the hydrodemolition wastewater. Prior to beginning the project, Rampart worked closely with the City of Chicago and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC) to obtain the permits required to perform the hydrodemolition. Rampart designed a wastewater plan specific to the exacting standards required by the City of Chicago and the MWRDGC to allow for the discharge of the treated water into the sanitary sewer system.
Rampart completed this project under budget and four months in advance of the scheduled completion date with zero OSHA recordable incidents. The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) selected the East Monroe Street Parking Garage repair project as its 2013 Repair Project of the Year.
