The concrete in the secondary clarifiers at the Derek R. Guthrie WQTC facility had become deteriorated. This delaminated concrete required removal and replacement. Because this is an active wastewater treatment plant, only one clarifier could be taken out of service at a time requiring a multi-phased approach to complete the project.
Rampart removed approximately 39,000 SF of concrete in the secondary clarifiers to a depth of 2.25″. In addition, Rampart performed wastewater treatment to reduce the total suspended solids and lower the pH. This was a multiple phase project allowing for only one clarifier to be out of service at a time.
This project was successfully completed on time and under budget, with no OSHA recordable incidents.
