During “Dry Hydrodemolition” (vacuum recovery of the hydrodemolition water), the vacuum truck is connected directly to the hydrodemolition robot. During concrete removal it may be necessary to dump the vacuum truck 2-3 times during the shift due to the water that is being collected. This requires disconnecting the vacuum truck from the hydrodemolition tractor to transport the water to the dumpsite. As a result the hydrodemolition operation is interrupted and it is possible to loose 2-4 hours per shift. To avoid this problem Rampart added a discharge pump to each of its vacuum trucks. The discharge pump allows the water in the vacuum truck to pump-off while the vacuuming operation is in progress. Discharge hose can be run from the back of the vacuum truck to the water collection area or the water can be pumped into a tank truck thus eliminating hydrodemolition and vacuum equipment downtime.
