Membrane removal is performed using a robotic tractor and a special spray head, which contains 16 small jets. The head rotates at up to 1,800 rpm, which allow the nozzles to slice and shred the membrane without any damage to the concrete surface. Membrane removal is fast and gentle. Rampart has removed coating from decks that were shot-blasted at the time of the original installation of the membrane and the overlap marks of the shot-blast machine could be easily seen. Following removal of the membrane with the high-pressure water the deck needs to be rinsed and allowed to dry before installation of a new coating.
