Rubber Removal

Rubber Removal 95%

Rubber removal without damage to existing paintUsing Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) water the rubber can be quickly and efficiently removed from the runway surface without damage to existing markings, lights or sealants.  Because the marking paint is relatively hard when compared to the soft rubber, the rubber can be removed from the painted markings without damaging the markings.  Removal rates have exceeded 20,000 square feet per hour when performing 95% removal.   The friction coefficient is greatly improved following rubber removal using UHP water and typically will be 80-90% of the coefficient as measured along the uncontaminated edge of the runway.  Removal is equally effective on asphalt or concrete runways.  The tines or groves are cleaned by the UHP water, which insures proper drainage of the surface during periods of rain thus minimizing the possibility of hydroplaning.

Rubber Removal 100% - Surface Texturing

Runway Rubber Removal PictureUsing Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) water the rubber and other surface contaminates can be 100% removed from the runway surface including the groves or tines.  This process will restore the original friction coefficient to the surface as measured along the uncontaminated edge of the runway.  Removal is equally effective on asphalt or concrete runways.  The tines or groves are cleaned by the UHP water, which insures proper drainage of the surface during periods of rain thus minimizing the possibility of hydroplaning.  Production rates range from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet per hour.
