Arlington, VA Two pairs of these bridges were over environmentally sensitive rivers. In addition, a portion of the work was performed in center lane closures with live traffic on both sides of the construction area. To prevent water from flowing across live traffic lanes and to prevent wastewater from entering the rivers, Rampart connected a vacuum system directly to the hydrodemolition unit to collect the water as the work progressed. |
