Full depth hydrodemolition removal is specified when the entire slab needs to be removed. In the case of waffle slab or pan-joist construction, full depth relates to the removal of the entire top surface to the top of the joist, or sufficiently deep to expose and clear the top reinforcing over the joist. Full depth removal may also be performed locally in areas of through slab deterioration or where cracks have penetrated full depth and the surrounding concrete may be chloride contaminated. The use of hydrodemolition will eliminate vibration and transmitted noise and will not damage surrounding concrete that is to remain in place.
